Video games have a variety of modes and settings that must undergo tedious work and testing. This is where game testers come in to play.

The first thing that a video game tester does is to test the welcoming menu of the game. Every option must be tested; it must all be accessible and have functional options. Other options that must be tested are the actual game modes. Every inch and pixel of the game should be logged and listed so that if there are problems, the testers can tell the programmers what to look for when tweaking must be made.

The most difficult games to fix are the adventure or role playing games. This has the longest stories and game play that make a video game tester’s lives difficult. With every slash of the sword and every magic flicked by the wand, the graphics and the detailed skill set must be checked because it is where glitches are often found. However, because of video game tester professionals –and their will to make every game perfect — glitches are found and fixed before it is released in the market.

This job have long working hours and the testers must have a good memory; because if they saw an old glitch on a different map, having a vivid memory lets them log the same problem when the other one is fixed. A vast gaming experience from the company’s products poses a great advantage to the testers because of the familiarity to previous installments.
